Aluminum Relief AnimalsStudents drew realistic images of animals, then transferred the image onto a piece of aluminum by pushing and pulling with tools. They used ink to create a patina, then mounted the animal on a frame decorated with a pattern inspired by that animal.

Faith Ringgold Story QuiltsInspired by looking at the work of Faith Ringold's story quilts, students created these works based on a story from their life. They used watercolor and watercolor pencils to draw their story. Then they 'quilted' the border using textured paper they printed. And lastly, the narrative was written and mounted.

Chihuly BowlsInspired the glass art of Dale Chihuly, students designed a 'glass' bowl using radial symmetry. They used sharpies and paint to create the design on plastic, then used heat to mold the bowl.
